2019 Summer 90-Day Challenge Last Update

🤯 After I came back from Detroit and I had that bad toothache I never got back on schedule with my three summer goals. 😩

As for editing and revising Jinxed I’m on the last one third of chapters. It has some further rounds of editing and revising to go before it gets to the beta readers. I’m somewhat behind on my schedule. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I don’t eat as much sugar. I’m still working on this because this is a long term health goal that will never go away. Minimizing eating sugar is important to my overall health.

Lastly, I stopped making IGTV vids. I’m more focused on podcasting. Despite the fact, I love the video medium perhaps it’s not the right platform for me considering how I feel about social media. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m not disappointed. I did achieve one of my goals which was to finish the first draft of Jinxed. And now I’m also done doing the first round of edits. That’s an accomplishment. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Weekly 90 Day Summer Challenge Update

I posted an update last Sunday because I wasn’t able to do it last Friday. And yesterday, well I just plain forgot. lol

Here’s the update.

WIP - I’ve started editing Jinxed. I started with my paper copy, but because I’m also using ProWriting Aid, it’s just easier for me to edit there than on the paper copy. In the past, I’ve started editing on paper and then eventually ended up editing on the computer. I also listen to the drafts. I can follow along with the words. This way I know if I’m missing a word or things read wonky. I’ve done three scenes out of 100 so far. if I do two or three scenes a day, I will be finished before the summer is over. I’m making mad progress considering I wanted the first draft completed by August 31st.

Less sugar - Still sticking with it. I weigh myself on Sundays. So I don’t know how much I’ve lost this week. I’m feeling a little bloated so who knows. I just have to stick with it because I don’t feel tired all the time. I do feel like I have more energy. But I also have to do better. For the most part, I do not have added sugars. But like yesterday, I fasted for 20 hours, so when I did eat, I ate baked drumette wings (5), a small side salad, a piece of garlic bread (ugh) and meat lasagna (why?). I stayed within my calorie goal, matter of fact I was 300 calories short, but my goal is not so much the calories, but the carbs and added sugar.

IGTV - Not doing so well on this goal. I didn’t post any videos this past week. I’m struggling for content. At least I think I’m struggling for content. Maybe I’m not being creative enough, who knows. But this is my back and forth thing with social media. One minute I want to do it, the next not so much. I think I will talk about this in my weekly podcast - Introverted with Michelle Carey.

Weekly 90 Day Summer Challenge Update

Making very good progress with my Jinxed project. I wrote over 2500 words this week. I want to be finished by the end of month. Another 16 days. Oh boy. Pressure.

This week I didn’t have any significant amount of sugar. I actually loss five pounds. The most sugary thing I had this past week was a Chick-Fil-A Peach milkshake. LIFE. It’s so good. I didn’t do any extra exercise. I did my usual of 5000+ steps a day.

I’ve been sticking to my goal of posting on my IGTV. So far, I’ve posted three videos on my @michellescarey account and three videos on my @michellecareywrites account. I’m very proud of this.

2019 🍒 90 Day Summer 🌝Challenge

This will be the third time of me doing my 90 day summer challenge. 👏🏽👏🏽 I did it in 2017 and last year, 2018.  Each summer, on June 1st, I pick out some goals to work on for the next 90 days. Basically to August 31st/September 1.  

This year I’m going to focus on finishing the first draft of one of my WIPs. 🤔  I’m thinking Jinxed. 🖋

The second thing is lessening how much sugar I eat. 🤯 Through a lot of prayer and meditation I really hope to make progress on this goal. It seems like everything we consume has sugar in it. I haven’t decided if I’m going to give up my fruit in the morning. 🤭🤦🏽‍♀️

The third thing is making sure I vlog on my IGTV channel. 📹 I’m over YouTube. 😒 😂 I have two IGTV channels. One is specifically for highlighting my writing efforts. I’ve been looking at editing apps for vertical video.  I need to get that and I hope to post my second video sometime over the next few days. I haven’t posted video to my main IG channel. Not sure if I want to. But I’m definitely going to post on my writing channel. 💙

These are three goals for the summer of 2019. Next up date will be in two to four weeks. For some reason this year I’m being very lose with how I’m doing this. I’m feeling free with it. 💃🏽
